Zagreb guided walking tour – This tour will show you Zagreb’s ups and downs, hill wise speaking. Going up from the Lower town can be a bit of a drag, so why not take a funicular? It’s the shortest one in the world, so they say. If you prefer walking up, that’s ok too. See you when you get there . And once you do, there is so much to see and hear about. For instance, did you know that back in the old days, some women didn’t use the stairs nor the cable car, they would simply fly if they needed to go up. I guess you should hear the whole story. A lot of stuff happened in front of the St. Marks church too. That’s the one with colourful ceramic tiled roof. And then, there’s a Stone gate with the miraculous painting that survived the fire. Again, It’s a true story. Then there‘s the cathedral and the food market Dolac and the Bloody bridge and the Tunnel. Ok I see, now it definitely sounds like I’m making this up.
Oh, and also, if you shall be passing by the Lotrscak tower at the noon just make sure you cover your ears. Don’t worry, you’ll know why.
Also, we could easily take a peek inside some of the churches and perhaps some of many museums (I’m thinking The broken relationship museum, Torture Museum of he Museum of the 80’s). Passing through the Dolac market is always a great experience for all the senses so is the walk down the narrow old town streets filled with cafes and tiny restaurants offering the unforgettable gastronomic experience. Lower town is to relax in its beautiful green parks overlooking some of the most charming palaces. And if you are a bit of a sweet tooth like myself, we could take a sweet break at a sweetshop, having a bite of the famous custard pie called kremsnita and of course, a lovely cup of coffee. Once in Zagreb, its just the matter of whether you have it with or without milk.
